Stone curtain wall is a type of exterior protective or decorative wall structure in building, composed of stone panels and a supporting structural system. It has specified load-bearing capacity, deformation capacity, and the ability to adapt to displacements of the main structure, but does not bear the loads of the main structure.
Types of Techniques:
1、Wet-bonded Stone Curtain Wall: An outdated technique involving the use of steel mesh on the wall surface, fixing panels with copper wires, and layered cement mortar application. However, it is prone to wall pollution, discoloration, hollowing, cracking, and even detachment, and is gradually being phased out.
2、Dry-hung Stone Curtain Wall: A method utilizing high-strength and corrosion-resistant metal hangers to fix the facing stones on the building's exterior surface through supporting, hanging, pinning, and bolting. It offers advantages such as pollution and discoloration prevention, reduced impact from climate changes, cost savings, and increased construction speed.
3、Inverted-hung Stone Curtain Wall: This technique employs stainless steel T-shaped hangers, and for safety considerations, it is advisable to use back-bolt system hangers. It involves mechanically fixing the stones with back bolts and long bolts, and attaching protective cloth to the back of the stones.
