The newly constructed terminal building project at Baotou Airport placed high demands on architectural facade design and public space quality from the overall planning stage. As a crucial transportation hub, the terminal building not only needed to meet the functional requirements of high-frequency use but also served as a showcase for the city's image. Based on this context, the project team focused on overall visual uniformity, structural safety, and long-term stability when selecting the curtain wall system.
During the initial communication phase, we were deeply involved in the design discussions for the terminal building's curtain wall system. Considering the large scale of the airport building, the wide facade area, and the high requirements for natural lighting, we focused on optimizing the structural form, grid proportions, and connection methods of the glass curtain wall system through multiple rounds of design iterations. By refining the design of the building's façade lines, we ensured that the curtain wall met functional requirements while presenting a simple, grand, and modern aesthetic for the transportation building.
To meet the airport's high standards for safety and durability, the curtain wall system for this project utilized a fully customized design. From profile cross-sections to node structures, everything was specifically designed based on the actual operating conditions of the terminal building, with a focus on enhancing wind pressure resistance and structural stability. Simultaneously, the glass configuration considered lighting, thermal insulation, and safety factors, using a multi-layer insulated safety glass solution to ensure transparency while effectively improving energy efficiency and user comfort.

During the production phase, we scheduled the customized fabrication of curtain wall components according to the project schedule, strictly controlling dimensional accuracy and assembly tolerances to ensure smooth on-site installation. Given the characteristics of airport construction projects, which often involve multiple overlapping tasks and tight installation windows, we conducted technical briefings and process coordination with the on-site construction team in advance to ensure efficient collaboration between curtain wall installation and main structure construction, minimizing on-site adjustments and rework.
Throughout the project implementation, we maintained continuous communication with the owner and relevant parties, optimizing and adjusting individual node details based on actual site conditions to ensure the overall completion and construction quality of the curtain wall system. As the curtain wall project was gradually completed, the terminal building's facade was fully realized, with clear lines and transparent, bright glass curtain walls, perfectly aligning with the airport building's positioning.
After project delivery, the client gave positive feedback on the overall effect of the curtain wall system, the construction coordination, and the attention to detail. Both in terms of exterior visual presentation and actual use stability and comfort, the project met the initial expectations. The successful completion of the curtain wall project for the new terminal building at Baotou Airport further validates our comprehensive capabilities in the customized design and implementation of curtain wall systems for large public buildings.
